PhenoHunting is a space dedicated to science, botanical taxonomy and the exchange of empirical knowledge about phenotyping and legal cannabis cultivation. To keep our community safe and ensure our app remains available on the official Google Play Store and Apple App Store, all users must strictly follow these Community Guidelines.
1. Golden Rules of the Community
A) Absolute Prohibition of Sales and Intermediation (Zero Tolerance)
- Do NOT publish offers to sell dried flowers, seeds, clones, oils, hash, edibles or restricted inputs.
- Do NOT create posts asking "where can I buy in X city?", "who delivers to my area?" or seeking plugs/dealers (sourcing).
- Do NOT use your profile or posts to share links to commercial Telegram channels, Signal accounts, commercial WhatsApp numbers, payment keys or external sales websites.
B) Prohibition of Misleading or Improper Advertising (No Shilling)
- Do NOT create fake accounts to artificially inflate the reputation of seed brands, breeders, fertilizer manufacturers or commercial dispensaries (astroturfing or shilling practices).
- Do NOT post commercially compensated reviews from commercial brands without explicit sponsorship declaration and prior verification as an official PhenoHunting commercial partner.
C) Improper Content & Minor Protection
- Do NOT publish images containing nudity, pornography, sexual acts or explicit violence.
- Do NOT publish any material that promotes, facilitates or induces drug, alcohol or tobacco use by minors.
- Do NOT engage in hate speech, harassment, threats, bullying or defamation against other community members.
2. Moderation Tools & User Autonomy
- Report Inappropriate Content: Next to every post, comment, photo or profile, a visible report button is available. Our team commits to reviewing the report and, if a violation is confirmed, removing the content and applying penalties within a maximum of 24 hours.
- Bidirectional User Blocking: If you experience harassment, you can block any user at any time. The block is immediately bidirectional: the blocked user will no longer see your publications, and you will instantly stop seeing any content from that user.
- Automated Pre-Moderation: Our platform uses improper language detection algorithms and AI filters to block abusive or commercial words and content at the time of posting.
3. Consequences of Guideline Violations
Level 1 — Warning
Removal of irregular content and email warning.
Level 2 — Suspension
Temporary suspension of the right to post photos or comments for periods of 7 to 30 days.
Level 3 — Permanent Ban
Complete and immediate account deletion, email address blocking and device identifier ban, with no right to any financial restitution for active subscriptions.
